Many of us have wondered about this, here's a possible answer. I just read
the following posting on the Cornell bluebird listserv. CBC is the Audubon
Christmas Bird Count. Black Mesa, Oklahoma, is just across the state line south
of Springfield, Colorado.

According to the compiler, the Kenton / Black Mesa CBC (western panhandle of
Oklahoma)
recorded a total of 5737 Mountain Bluebirds
on Sunday, Jan. 1st, 2006!
