Thanks for the note. I've only been in Colorado (Woodland Park) for about 5 years and came from Anchorage Alaska before that. I just moved to Florence so even having Ash-throated Flycatchers in my yard is still "neat" for me. I hope they do not become a pest - I would prefer to have the Bluebirds nesting in my boxes.

Pat I have had Ash Throated flycatchers nesting in my bb boxes for years. I think that last year they fledged 40 young. There nest sure are a mess snakes lizards cow dung elk hair rabbit bur and the some time nested on top of a nest of baby bb.

I just got a scope on the bird sitting on top of the nest box with a bill full of plant material. It is an Ash-throated Flycatcher. I know they are cavity nesters but how often do they use bluebird boxes/or perhaps get a chance to use a nest box.
