Hello to all you Bluebird Babble subscribers!
The Colorado Bluebird Project now has a workshop set up at the new Audubon
Center at Chatfield, on Chatfield State Park southwest of Denver. We're
getting organized to start box-building sessions and are looking for several
volunteers. If you're interested in participating in box-building sessions, read
on. If you're not, no need to read any further. :-)
We'll probably have two different types of work sessions: one to cut the
wood into the various lengths needed to make a box, drill the entrance holes
and cut the escape ladder slots on the inside of the front panel; the other
session will assemble the boxes, and sometimes disassemble them into kits. We're
guessing we'll need 3 people for the cutting sessions and 4 for the assembly
sessions. Our work session leader is Fred Greist. Fred has extensive
experience in box-building and he's got the shop set up to run like clockwork. He'll
provide any guidance you might need.

will go to everyone on the listserv. Please address your emails directly to me
at CBPKEVIN at AOL.COM.
As we gear up to start these work sessions we'd like to set up a schedule
that accommodates the most volunteers possible, so I need to ask a few
questions:
- Do you prefer daytime or nighttime sessions?
- Do you prefer weekend sessions, or during the week?
- Do you prefer a specific day of the week?
- Do you prefer one type of work session over the other (cutting vs assembly)?
- How many sessions per month do you think you'd like to attend? Sessions
will probably run from 1 to 3 hours, and you're obviously not required to stay
the whole time.
Thanks for your interest! Please let me know your preferences, and add
any other info you think might be pertinent. And don't hesitate to ask any
questions you might have.
