We first heard mountain bluebirds at Carter Lake west of Loveland on Feb. 22nd and a few days later spotted a couple of males. We monitor 50 boxes on Larimer County Parks land in the Blue Mountain area (Carter, Flatiron, Pinewood lakes).

Hello to bluebird lovers; I haven't seen bluebirds at Cherry Creek resovoir near me but was happy to see this posting on co-birds and hope that all of you will share sightings. I haven't been active for several monts recoveing from knee replacement but am looking for spring and return of the bluebirds! Sue
I help monitor 44 boxes near Larkspur.

CObirders,
Gary Matthews and I walked through a flock of 20-30 Mountain
Bluebirds near the Beaver Meadows Entrance to Rocky Mountain National
Park today. Nearby, we also found two Northern Shrike. The changing
of the guard.
At Lake Estes, a group of waterfowl near the west end included a male
Barrow's Goldeneye, several Common Goldeneye, a male Hooded
Merganser, a pair of Bufflehead, and a Lesser Scaup. A Northern
Shoveler dropped in, as well, while we were there.
