The Colorado Bluebird Project is gearing up to start building bluebird boxes
at the new workshop at the Audubon Center at Chatfield, and we need your help!
No prior experience is needed, we'll provide supervision and training. We
will have two types of work sessions: one will focus on cutting the boards and
drilling the entrance and ventilation holes; the other will focus on
assembling the boxes.

We've set up our first set of dates for work sessions. We plan to start each
session at 9am and work for about 3 hours. You can sign up for one, two, or
as many sessions as you like. Here are the dates:
Thursday, January 4th: Cutting and Drilling Session
Saturday, January 6th: Assembly Session
Tuesday, January 16th: Cutting and Drilling Session
Saturday, January 20th: Assembly Session
Thursday, February 8th: Cutting and Drilling Session
Saturday, February 10th: Assembly Session
Tuesday, February 20th: Cutting and Drilling Session
Saturday, February 24th: Assembly Session

We'll have bottled water available, you're welcome to bring your thermos of
coffee or other refreshments. We can provide dust filter masks, safety glasses
and gloves; if you prefer to use your own you might want to bring them. You
also might want to wear a hat or other head gear if you work in the cutting
sessions, there can be quite a bit of sawdust in the air. We do recommend you
wear warm footwear, the concrete floor is cold this time of year.

Fred Griest will be managing the work sessions. Please contact him to let
him know which sessions you'd like to attend. Also, if you're interested in
volunteering but can't attend any of these sessions please let Fred know why...
if we need to change the sessions to different days or times to accommodate
more volunteers we need that feedback from you. You can call Fred (or leave a
message on his answering machine) at 303.759.2194, or you can send him an email
at fredgriest at earthlink.net.

We are also looking for someone with a pickup truck to transport lumber from
the Adams Lumber Company (near Arapahoe & Jordan Roads) to the workshop, to
avoid the delivery charges. If you can be of help in this effort please contact
Fred at the above phone or email.

Thanks for your interest in volunteering on this project!
