Lois Webster Fund - Grants Available for Colorado Wildlife Research Projects
 
The Lois Webster Fund (LWF) of the Audubon Society of Greater Denver was
established in 1995 specifically to support Colorado non-game wildlife
research and related education projects.  The LWF is interested in funding
projects designed to lead to the conservation of non-game species that are
declining or under stress or suffering loss or degradation of habitat.
Approximately $5,500 will be available for project funding in 2007 from the
LWF.

Application deadline is January 22, 2007.
 
The LWF is interested in serving as a catalyst and in partnering with other
organizations (conservation organizations, other nonprofit organizations,
government agencies, academic institutions and others) on Colorado wildlife
research and related education projects.  The LWF can provide limited
funding to encourage initiation of targeted projects and will look to the
grantee to provide leadership and coordination to obtain additional funding
and to involve others. The grantee must also make every effort to
disseminate information on the project and on the results of the research to
as wide an audience as possible and at a minimum will prepare an article for
the ASGD newsletter and submit for publication one or more research
report(s) in the appropriate professional journals.  The LWF hopes to fund
at least one project per year, and will consider multiple year projects but
funding will only be awarded on an annual basis.
