Enjoy birding in Mexico from the dry, tropical deciduous forest of the
Pacific coast to the pine/oak forests of the Sierra Madre Occidental.
Travel on the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad, one of the world's great
train trips through scenic wilderness along the Copper Canyon. See such
birds as the Black-throated Magpie-jay, Thick-billed and Lilac-crowned
Parrots, Russet-crowned Motmot, Rufous-bellied Chachalaca, a half dozen
species of hummingbirds and many, many more with excellent local bilingual
bird guides. Relax in small, remote inns with excellent accommodations and
cuisine. Visit the homes of Tarahumara Indians, indigenous people living
in their traditional manner in their mountain strongholds. Petroglyphs,
spectacular views, native crafts, cozy lodges and wonderful wildlife are a
