OFFICE CLEANER NEEDED

We are in need of an industrious soul with a willing body to clean the  
ASGD offices twice monthly. Contact Susan at 303-973-9530 to apply.

Audubon Center Clean Up
Thursday, Nov. 1 from noon - 3pm
& Friday, Nov. 2 from 9am - ?
We'll be cleaning, organizing, doing odd maintenance jobs & possibly  
doing a little painting. The more hands the merrier & the easier the  
work goes! Call or email Susan if you can help.

Walk the Wetlands
Sunday, Nov. 4 @ 9am
Meet at the Audubon Center parking lot
This is a free bird walk and everyone is welcome. You never know what  
you might see... last month the group realized that they were being  
watched by a bobcat perched high in a dead tree!

Members Meeting - ? Colorado?s White-tailed Ptarmigan: Ghosts of the  
Alpine Tundra? Presenter: Joyce Gellhorn
Wednesday, November 7 @ 7pm

Meeting Place: REI Flagship Store, 1416 Platte St. in downtown Denver;  
just of I-25 near Invesco Field at Mile High.

White-tailed ptarmigan, camouflaged to blend into their surroundings,  
are the only birds capable of survival in alpine environments  
throughout the year. The program, given by Dr. Joyce Gellhorn, author,  
teacher and biological consultant, takes a look at the unique  
adaptations of ptarmigan for living under these conditions. Because  
this species lives on the edge, it may serve as a barometer to the  
health of our planet in terms of global warming and preservation of  
habitats.
