Dear Audubon members,

Please join us for the annual Audubon/Sierra Legislative Conference on Saturday, February 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at First Plymouth  Church, 3501 S. Colorado Blvd. (southwest corner of Colorado and Hampden) in Denver.
    The agenda looks like this:   8:30   Continental breakfast and registration
                                              9:00   Discussion of current environmental bills with
                                                       Audubon leg. liaison Jen Boulton and Sierra liaison
                                                       Susan LeFever   
                                             10:00   Discussion of energy alternatives and their impacts
                                                        on wildlife and ecosystems 
                                                        Speakers:  Mike King, Dept. of Natural Resources
                                                                 on oil and gas
                                                                Bob Aame, DU, on nuclear
                                                                TBD speaker on wind or solar
                                              11:00  Jo Evans on protecting Colorado's wetlands & streams
                                              11:30  Tom Blickensderfer, DNR, on endangered  species
                                                        work by the state of Colorado
                                              12:00  Lunch and discussions with legislators
                                                1:30  Adjourn
There will be breaks every hour, with drawings for door prizes.
Cost of the conference is $15, to cover materials and venue.  Walk-ins welcome!
Please plan to attend - decisions are made by those who show up.
