Another alert on the oil and gas hearings - but take time to click on the Rocky Mountain News poll and vote. When I did checked the results so far, 68% of respondents said the new rules were NOT fair to the oil and gas industry. Depressing - but probably the result of o&g employees voting. You can also send in comments from this message.

Dear Polly & Gene,
There is a record-setting oil and gas boom in Colorado that is threatening our water quality, wildlife habitat and communities. The state agency which oversees oil and gas drilling in Colorado is in the midst of updating decades-old environmental protections for Colorado's air, water and wildlife. This is a critical time for you get involved and help support common sense protections by:
1. Attending the public hearing in Denver on Monday. Please attend, it is critical that we have as many people as possible showing their support for strong protections!
2. Writing a letter to the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission
3. Vote "YES" on this Rocky Mountain News Poll
4. Watch this video and sign the petition
5. Tell your friends about how they can get involved!
Thank you for taking action on this important issue today!
