American Goldfinches have descended on our feeders and perhaps we should buy the local Wild Bird Center. We counted 50 of them the day before yesterday. They gobble up thistle and sunflower chips. They feed on the feeders and on the ground where our new mesh feeder spills thistle seeds as 10 goldfinches hang on the mesh.
We also see a male and female flicker eating chips from the feeder -- those alleged ant-eaters. Fairly standard list of visitors, just the quantity of goldfinches has us agog. Once in a while a pine siskin ventures in among them, but rarely.

Karen's bluebirds today seem quite late. We have seen none for almost a month.
