Urling stopped at the Walker Pit this afternoon and spotted two single specaculars:
a Sandhill Crane and a Surf Scoter. I think this is the first scoter we've seen around here.
The Pit also has 10 or so Canvasbacks and Redheads, 20 or so Ruddy Ducks, Ring-necked Ducks, gadwalls, wigeons, green-winged teal, around 200 coots.
It's had a changing cast of characters all week, with the mix varying not only from day to day but from morning to afternoon.

At our house, over the past 5 days, we've seen courting Golden Eagles (actually at the NW corner of Castlewood Canyon State Park) and courting Prairie Falcons, and heard courting Great Horned Owls. A few Bluebirds remain, and I think I spotted an Eastern Bluebird on Wednesday.
