There have been three Eurasian Collared Doves (1 juvenile) in our yard most
of the year, but yesterday, 12 of their friends stopped by, and are still
here! That's a record for the top of the hill east of Elizabeth. I had
first noted one at the feeder in 2003.
My records on the Red-naped Sapsucker show I saw one in the Parker Regional
Park in September 2004. Great stuff!

Subject: [Douglbirds] Red-naped Sapsucker
Saturday we had a "new" bird at our house in the Pinery. A female
red-naped sapsucker spent the entire day in an old cottonwood in our
backyard. We first noticed her at 7:45 AM and she was still there at 5:15
PM when we left for the evening. She happily made numerous holes(very
quickly and efficiently!) and never left that section of the tree the entire
day. Pygmy nuthatches, flickers, a squirrel and wasps all checked out the
sap that was oozing.
