In recent days I've seen Virginia's Warblers coming through my place. I saw
three here late Saturday and one dropped in to bathe with the many other
songbirds and hummingbirds in the garden microsprinklers late this afternoon.
I've personally not seen this species here in September, and ask if any of
you subscribers know about their typical migration weeks through here.
Hummingbird population (Calliope, Rufous and even an adult male Broad-tailed)
is down to ten or twelve; a few Western Tanagers and Cassin's Vireos are
still coming through; Blue-gray Gnatcatchers still here; a steady stream of
Wilson's Warblers every day since August 22. I've seen no House Wrens (including
the one that ate from my hand) for a week.
