We have had one or two Paragon Falcons near our feeders these past few days. We started to notice we had no birds around, except for the hummers. Then we had one of the falcons perch on a bench we have in our flower garden, just a few feet from our front door! As much as I love to watch these big birds, we shooed him off, because we didn't want him making a dinner of the other little birds that frequent our feeders. Then this morning, he was on the opposite side of the house watching from a pine tree just a few feet from a tree with several feeders in it, and two squirrels running around on the ground below. Then in a couple of minutes he just flew off and pretty quickly the little finches and others returned to the feeders. Has anyone else had these birds around? This is our third summer here and these are the first ones we've actually seen here although they may have been around and we just didn't know it. We lost so many trees due to the late Spring snow that it has really opened up our forest around the house and perhaps we are better able to see them now.
