This morning, to my delight, I saw my first Lazuli Bunting, male, at one of our feeders. What a pretty little bird! We also had our first Rufous Hummingbird this week, as well. We had only one last year and I'm wondering if this is the same little bird. We have had a big increase in the numbers of hummers in the past 7-10 days. Also, many more Black-headed grosbeaks than last year.

What a wonderful cool morning for watching! We've had a huge influx of tiny brown bugs that fly. Not much bigger than a flea. Does anyone know what they are and when they'll leave. Going outside means getting them in your hair, etc. YUCK!!
