[Douglbirds] squirrel nfo

I know this is suppose to be mainly about birds, but I have a squirrel question. We have the black with the tuffs in the ears. We have had a new visitor in this last week. He is really beautiful. He is all grey with a white underside. His tail almost looks silver. He also has the tuffs in his ears. Does anyone know if this is a new species or is this a fluke in cross breeding?
