The past couple of weeks we have seen a new bird to our feeders. They seem to be in a group of 6 or so. It may be a Pygmy Nuthatch, but I'm new at this bird identification process so was wondering if other are seeing this bird or one of similar description. We are 1 mile west of I-25 on Fox Farm Rd, out of Larkspur. I'd like to hear for any of you who think my identification is correct or perhaps offer another possibility.
We, too, have had large numbers of pine siskins this past month. They are feasting on the Niger and sunflower chips in the feeders we struggle to keep full. Also, sharing the feeders with Lesser Goldfinches.
We haven't seen any hummers in the past couple of weeks. Sadly it seems they have left for their winter homes. We enjoyed large numbers this summer.
I so enjoy others postings that add or confirm our own sightings. Thanks to all of you who take the time to post.
