Our Denver Audubon bird class stopped at the Walker Pit about 1:30 this afternoon (Saturday) and to our delight, saw a resting, breeding plumage, Common Loon.
We hope it sticks around -- we have another field trip tomorrow!

Walker Pit: one-quarter mile west of the Franktown stoplight, turn right on Walker Road; the pit is a quarter mile, visible from the road at the turn. (Someone left the gate open during the week, but don't go through. You can see into the pond very well from the road.)
