[Douglbirds] Bluebirds

We put up a bluebird house about a month ago and think we have a nesting  
pair of Mountain Bluebirds. We have a birdhouse that allows one to open up the  
side for easier cleaning. There is a piece of plexiglass inside the door. Would 
 the bluebirds abandon the house if we opened the side door and took a peek  
inside?
