This morning I had another first-time bird in my yard.........a Bullock's Oriole. What an excellent surprise!!!
Yesterday I had 4 first-time yard-birds.......
Brown Thrasher - 1, singing at 5:45am in my tall scrub oaks
Bewick's Wren - 1, singing from the top of a Douglas fir
Hammond's Flycatcher - 1, flycatching around my ponds for about 15 minutes
Yellow-breasted Chat - 2, singing & calling in the thick oak/chokecherry thicket, responding aggressively to my whistles
I wonder what's going on this year, that I'm having so many new and exciting birds in my yard?!
Good Birding,
