2025 May Volunteer Enrichment #2

Join our own volunteer and AMB for this morning hike. Beaver Ranch, is a great park with a nice, diverse montane habitat that encourages a variety of birds. We’ll look and listen for Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, Western Tanagers, Evening Grosbeaks, MacGillivray's Warblers, Williamson's Sapsuckers and a variety of different possibilities. This trip is a hike – we'll be walking approximately 4 miles in total. While the trail is shady and well-maintained and we will be moving slowly with frequent stops, there is elevation gain of approximately 500 feet. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some uphill sections. Remember to bring binoculars, water, a hat, and sunscreen.

We will meet at 8am in the parking lot for the Beaver Ranch disc golf course. Please be on time so that we can make the most of our morning. There is a portable toilet located at this parking lot – note that there are no other bathrooms located along our route.

When you get to Beaver Ranch, take the dirt road past the first few buildings you see and continue up the hill on the dirt road. The disc golf course parking is the next large parking lot along on the left.

As it gets closer, we can set a place for volunteers to meet and carpool. Bring binoculars if you have them, water, and a sun hat. Coffee and donuts will be available.
