Accessible Birding at the Sand Creek Greenway Wetland Loop

PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 10 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

Join Denver Audubon and the Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership for another Birding Without Barriers program on the beautiful Sand Creek Greenway! This 2.5 mile out-and-back trip will start at the Wetland Loop trailhead in Commerce City and follow along the riparian habitat of the Sand Creek. The trail is mostly flat and paved and offers the opportunity to enjoy the wondrous birds and other animals who call the Greenway home. Bring binoculars, appropriate outdoor clothing, water, and sunscreen. Note that this field trip is accessible to those with mobility challenges. A restroom is available at trailhead and benches, shade, and picnic tables are available approximately every 1/4 mile.
Our meet-up location is the parking lot just east of the intersection of 52nd Avenue and Ivy Street in Commerce City, shown on this map as just west of the Front Range Trailhead, which is marked with a blue pin.

By registering for and attending this field trip, you agree to the following:

-You will self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms, even if you are vaccinated, and use common sense. DO NOT attend if you if you had recent exposure to an individual with symptoms or confirmation of COVID-19. If you have any symptoms or even suspect you could have COVID-19 symptoms, do not sign up for this trip.
-Masks Outdoors: Masks are not required outdoors. However, we encourage unvaccinated people to wear a mask when interacting with people outside their household when outdoors and maintain social distancing of 6 feet.
-Masks Indoors: Fully vaccinated people can go without masks in public indoor spaces. Unvaccinated people are encouraged to continue wearing masks in all public indoor spaces.
