PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 50 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

In partnership with the Colorado Partners for Reptile and Amphibian Conservation (COPARC, www.coparc.org), we will be hosting a public herpetology wildlife survey at the Audubon Nature Center on June 4. Our unique riparian (near water) and forested habitat provides excellent habitat for a variety of snakes, turtles, frogs, and toads. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the safety and skills needed for field herping, the art and science of searching for and documenting reptiles and amphibians. All ages welcome! Live animals expected! Please wear close-toed, sturdy footwear, long pants, and bring your own backpack, hat, water bottle, and sunscreen. Registration and signing of liability releases for BOTH Denver Audubon and COPARC is REQUIRED to participate in this event.

The event will take place on mostly flat trails around the Audubon Nature Center.

Participants do not need a State Parks pass to participate; however, they must register ahead of time through our Denver Audubon website. The liability release for COPARC will be emailed ahead of time and need to be filled out and returned prior to arrival.

By registering for and attending this field trip, you agree to the following:
-Please self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms, even if you are vaccinated, and use common sense. DO NOT attend if you if you had recent exposure to an individual with symptoms or confirmation of COVID-19. If you have any symptoms or even suspect you could have COVID-19 symptoms, do not sign up for this trip.
-Masks Outdoors: Masks are not required outdoors. However, we encourage unvaccinated people to wear a mask when interacting with people outside their household when outdoors and maintain social distancing of 6 feet.
-Masks Indoors: Fully vaccinated people can go without masks in public indoor spaces. Unvaccinated people are encouraged to continue wearing masks in all public indoor spaces.
