Poll Shows Colorado Voters are Conservationists
The tenth annual Colorado College State of the Rockies Project Conservation in the West Poll was released On February 20, 2020, showing voters in the Mountain West are calling for an aggressive agenda to protect more public lands in the face of threats from climate change impacts and energy development.
By more than a 2-to-1 margin, Western voters want Congress to emphasize clean air, wildlife, and recreation over increasing energy production on public lands.
How many Colorado voters polled consider themselves “conservationists?” A whopping 69%! Over 80% of Colorado voters polled say that issues involving clean water, clean air, wildlife, and public lands are important in deciding whether or not to support an elected official.
