Gardens for the Birds on Saturday, June 26, 2021, 8am-12:30pm
This first ever garden tour of the Audubon Center Public Demonstration Gardens highlights our five wildscaped gardens created with birds in mind. No need to travel far to see five different gardens that are for the birds!
Missed the tour? That’s okay. The Audubon Nature Center demonstration gardens are open year-round for you to view at no cost. Find the address at the bottom of our web page.
Tickets are timed every 30 minutes from 8am-11:30am on Saturday, June 26. Registration is required for all visitors. Register now for Gardens for the Birds garden tour before space fills up.
During the tour, visitors discover how each of the specialized gardens provide a different focus on the essential wildlife habitat elements of food, water, shelter, and space. Traverse through the Hummingbird, Colorado Native, Bird Bath, Bird House, and Bird Feeder gardens at your own pace, and learn about them from experts stationed in each garden.
This tour is an opportunity for birders, gardeners, and outdoor enthusiasts to gain valuable insight on plant choices that work in different landscaping conditions, the relationship between plants and birds, and the best sources for obtaining native plants for your yard. You have the opportunity to purchase Colorado native wildflower seed, browse our gift store, and learn about bird nesting and feeding behaviors. Obtain lists of nurseries, landscape designers, and garden certification programs for Colorado native plants and habitat landscaping at the event.
We thank our sponsors, Front Range Birding Company and Creek Side Gardens, for supporting this event. Proceeds from the event support our environmental education, community outreach, and conservation programs for all ages that provide engaging and conservation-minded content for creating wildlife habitat in our neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, and businesses.
