Welcome to the 13th Annual Hootenanny Event!

Join us for a day filled with feathered fun and family-friendly activities at the Denver Audubon's Kingery Nature Center. This year's Hootenanny, our largest family event of the year and the only owl festival in the Denver-Metro area, promises a memorable experience for nature enthusiasts of all ages.

  • Location: Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center, 11280 Waterton Rd. Littleton, CO 80125

Event Highlights:

  • Live Owl Demonstrations: Experience captivating live owl demonstrations by Nature’s Educators at 10:30am, 12:00pm, and 1:30pm.
  • Owl Crafts for Kids: Engage your creativity with owl-themed crafts designed for children.
  • Hidden Owl Scavenger Hunt: Explore our Native Plant Gardens as you search for hidden owl clues.
  • Owl Pellet Dissections: Delve into the science of owls’ diets through interactive owl pellet dissections.
  • Live Folk Music: Enjoy live performances by local Denver band Nearly There.
  • Educational Owl Booths: Visit educational booths hosted by partners such as Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, and U.S. Forest Service.
  • Owl Merchandise: Discover owl-themed treasures available in our gift shop and from local vendors.
  • Coffee Truck: Stay refreshed with beverages from the local coffee vendor, Sustain & Able.

Registration:

  • Walk-up Tickets: $15 for teens and adults, $10 for children (3-12 years), and free admission for children under 2.

Note: All proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Denver Audubon and support our conservation efforts.

All Ages Welcome: Whether you're a seasoned birder or new to the world of owls, the Hootenanny offers something for everyone. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to celebrate owls and wildlife while supporting conservation in our community.
