Event Details
Explore the riparian corridor of the Wheatridge Greenbelt looking for late fall migrant ducks, other waterbirds and potentially Wilson's Snipe and American Dipper. American Tree Sparrow and Rusty Blackbird can also be spotted this time of year. There are always surprises at this urban oasis: we've seen coyotes and bobcats along the trail here before. You can expect generally flat paved and unpaved surfaces around the area's reservoirs and creeks and we may move up to 2.5 miles. Make sure to bring your binoculars, camera, sturdy shoes along with a snack and a drink. Your guide will provide a spotting scope, but feel free to bring yours along as well. This trip is great for beginners who are just getting into birdwatching along with those who are looking to improve their waterfowl identification skills.
**Note that additional meetup directions will be sent prior to the trip but the meeting location is Prospect Park, Wheatridge, CO 80033
Please Note: If you have registered and no longer can attend the outing, please contact the Denver Audubon Office at 303-973-9530 as soon as possible. There may be a waiting list for those wanting to join.
