Denver Audubon Urban Christmas Bird Count: South Platte North

PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 10 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

Join us for Audubon's 125th Christmas Bird Count, a beloved holiday tradition open to bird enthusiasts of all levels! Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced birder, your participation is invaluable in spotting as many birds as possible.In partnership with National Audubon, Denver Audubon proudly supports the bird count within the Denver Urban circle on Monday, January 1, 2025

Details:

• Date: Monday, January 1, 2025
• Location: South Platte River – North Section. This is mostly walking.
• Leader: Jane Lee

• Meeting Point: Heron Pond/ Heller Natural Area
• Directions:  From Washington, St., turn east on 54th Ave to Franklin St, then turn right (south) onto Franklin St. to 53rd Ave and go to the end of the street where there’s a small paved parking area

• You will receive an email from your listed count leader with route details days leading up to the event.
• For any questions concerning the route, location, or time details, or any day-of questions, please reach out to your count leader.
• To modify your registration, please call our office at 303-973-9530.
• If you need to cancel your reservation less than 48 hours in advance, please email your count leader your name and that you will not be able to attend.

Important Note: Please be aware that while these walks are beginner-friendly, they are not suitable for young children. We recommend all participants be ages 12 and above.
