NATURE CAMP
CAMP INFORMATION
General Camp Information
- Ages 6-10 (must have completed kindergarten)
- Times: 8:30am-3:30pm
- Weekly sessions (Monday – Friday) from June 16 – Aug. 1 (schedule below). Sign up for one session or sign up for them all!
We offer immersive, hands-on experiences that inspire young, energetic minds to become thoughtful conservationists and lifelong explorers. Our core philosophy is that playing in the great outdoors is essential. Campers will have the opportunity to play in the mud, splash in streams, learn to “tread lightly,” have fun, and form lasting friendships.

Camp Descriptions
- Survival Adventure Camp (June 16-20) – Learn essential survival skills and have a blast in the great outdoors! Each day, we’ll explore the woods while discovering how to build a shelter, filter water, use a compass, and identify local wildlife and their tracks. Join us for a week filled with scavenger hunts, team-building games, new skills, adventure, and endless fun!
- Things with Wings (June 23-27) – Soar into adventure and explore the plants (yes – plants!) and animals with wings! Discover the unique adaptations of these airborne creatures through hikes, science experiments, and art. Uncover the mysteries of flight and join us for a week of fun, learning, and exciting discoveries!
- Nature Detectives (July 7-11) – Dive into the mysteries of nature and science through hands-on exploration! Uncover nature’s hidden secrets and separate fact from fiction. As budding sleuths, we’ll investigate the wonders of the natural world. Your young detective will get their hands dirty, sticky, and maybe even a little wet, all in the name of discovery!
- Creepy Crawly Camp (July 14-18) – Dive into the fascinating world of insects, spiders, reptiles, and amphibians as we discover the creatures that slither, crawl, and hop in the wild! Learn about the secret lives of bugs and spiders, meet a few friendly critters, and search for these amazing animals in their natural habitats.
- The Science of Nature (July 21-25) – Uncover the secrets of the natural world through exciting experiments and engineering challenges. Explore how motion and energy shape our environment, and investigate the chemistry of water, rocks, and plants. Join us as the natural world becomes our giant science laboratory for hands-on discovery and adventure!
- Wetland Warriors (July 28 – Aug. 1) – Get ready, get set, get wet! Embark on an exciting adventure through rivers, ponds, and wetlands – catching frogs, building beaver dams, following rivers and streams, and meeting live wetland animals. Every day, get your feet wet (literally) with games, science experiments, and plenty of watery fun!
Camp Location
Camp is at the Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center, at the southern end of Chatfield State Park.
11280 Waterton Rd. Littleton, CO 80125.
Our Nature Center is an urban oasis with bald eagles, beavers, deer, and so many birds! We will be immersed in streams, forests, and ponds.
While we do have indoor facilities, we spend most of our time outdoors and there is no air conditioning at camp. We LOVE hot summer days – we cool down with frequent water breaks, wading ankle-deep in the river, playing water games, and adjusting the location or structure of activities, if needed.
