PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 10 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

Belmar Park is a hidden gem (map link below) with good trails, a lake with an island and a lovely gazebo for viewing birds and other wildlife. We will meet in the parking lot next to the lake. (Stay above the Lakewood Heritage Center unless you need a restroom. There are pit latrines available in the park itself.) This is a moderate trip and had been assessed for wheelchair accessibility. We should see a variety of waterfowl, songbirds, and possibly a few American White Pelicans. Distances are short but trails offer access to up to 8 miles of trail. Surfaces vary from paved to loosely packed dirt; however, slopes are not steep, and using a wheelchair or assistive device is not difficult.

Belmar Park is located at 801 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226.  View Map
