We will explore this unique property along the Highline Canal as we search for resident and migrating birds. Large cottonwood trees and shrub thickets along the trail and on the Quincy Farm property attracts a variety of birds. Also, there is a pond where we may see ducks, Great Blue Herons, and American White Pelicans.
Directions: There is limited parking at Quincy Farm. You can park on Quincy and come through the driveway or you can park at Kent Denver and take a short walk north on the High Line to the bridge to Quincy Farm. If you do go to Kent, park at Kent Denver, 4000 East Quincy Ave, Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113, in the east lot, and follow the path to the High Line Canal. Walk north on the High Line Canal past Quincy Pond and look for a CHLP sign. Take a right onto the bridge that leads to the east side of the property.
PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 12 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.
