Event Details

PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 12 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

Our trip out to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR will include multiple stops within the Refuge to look for spring arrivals while also viewing the resident birds. We'll meet at the Visitor's Center and from there drive to Ladora Lake. The dirt paths around the lake are uneven, and we could travel between 1-2 miles depending on the birds we see. From there we will drive to the viewing platform at Lower Derby. Bald Eagles and numerous waterfowl can be viewed from the observation platform across from the parking lot.

If time allows we will visit Havana Ponds, which is about 1 mile on a gravel path. I will have my scope and an extra pair of binoculars available. Beginner birders and families are welcome and encouraged to come birding! Note that this field trip is not accessible for those with mobility challenges.

By registering for and attending this field trip, you agree to the following:

-Please self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms, even if you are vaccinated, and use common sense.
