This virtual program is presented by Dr. Reesa Conrey, Avian Researcher for CPW and Louis Webster Fund grant recipient. This event includes a short Denver Audubon Conservation Committee public meeting.
In 2020 Colorado Parks and Wildlife initiated a study of breeding bald eagles in Colorado's northern Front Range, to better understand the current status of this population, and to understand and document the impact of human disturbance and changed land use on these bald eagles. To collect data on eagle movements and survival, CPW put GPS satellite transmitters on breeding adults, and collected photographic data at nest sites to look at levels of disturbance within 1 square kilometer of nests. Dr Conrey will be explaining the results of the study so far, including this year's data.
View this meeting via Zoom. The link will be emailed about 3 hours prior to the event start. Registration closes at 3:00 p.m., September 6.
