Audubon's 123rd Christmas Bird Count is a holiday tradition – everyone welcome: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. The more eyes we have, the more birds we see. In partnership with National Audubon, Denver Audubon supports the bird count within the Denver Urban circle on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
This sub-area covers Bluff Lake, Westerly Creek, parts of Sand Creek from Havana east to Star K Ranch, then into central Aurora including Delaney Farm, Jewell Wetlands, Utah Park and places in between. All of our birding spots are relatively flat on improved trails. Bluff Lake is accessible to those with disabilities. Because of the size of our sub-area, we usually separate into smaller groups to make sure we can complete the count by mid-afternoon. Most of us will meet at 7:30 AM on 1/1/23 at the Bluff Lake parking lot located at 11255 E. MLK Jr Blvd, Denver, CO 80238. We hope to end by early to mid-afternoon. Once you register, I will be in touch with more details.
For more information, please call area count leader Steve Hebert at 303-718-3318.
