PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 10 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

Audubon's 123rd Christmas Bird Count is a holiday tradition – everyone welcome: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. The more eyes we have, the more birds we see. In partnership with National Audubon, Denver Audubon supports the bird count within the Denver Urban circle on Sunday, January 1, 2023.

We’ll meet at the parking lot just north of City of Cuernavaca Park (20th and Platte St.) at 8:30 a.m. See the map of the meeting place and major stops. Per the map, please note that Little Raven St., which intersects 20th St., can be accessed from 20th St. or from 15th St.  The Denver Skate Park, which is on 19th St., crosses the river to intersect with Platte St. From City of Cuernavaca Park, we will walk through Commons Park to Confluence Park (Cherry Creek), return to our cars, and drive/carpool to Globeville Landing Park (38th and Ringsby Court) to arrive at approximately 10:30 a.m. (We may take a break around 9:45 a.m. for a warm-up at a café near the Cherry Creek/South Platte confluence.) We will then make a stop at Northside Park (54th and Franklin near the National Guard Armory) around 11:30 a.m. and then, weather permitting, proceed to Riverside Cemetery. All but the most stalwart birders will be done in by 1:00 p.m.

For more information, please contact area count leader Casey Davenhill at casey@cherry-creek.org or 303-345-1675 (text messages are best).
