Event Details

PLEASE NOTE: You must register for this field trip (limit: 8 people) and complete the liability form when you register. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed. Other requirements are described below.

During this trip we focus on using our senses to more fully experience nature and at the same time become better birders and healthier humans. We will stroll hiking trails around the park, with an estimated 1-mile, easy to moderate distance. Part of the trip will include sitting, observing, and practicing awareness skills. The leader uses techniques described in the book, What the Robin Knows, by Jon Young, such as “owl eyes,” “deer ears,” and “fox walking.” Adult birders of all levels are welcome. Bird species common to this area include the 3 species of nuthatches, Mountain Bluebird, Pine Siskin, Yellow-rumped Warbler, and much more.

Leader: Crystal Reser.

Meet at I-70 West, Exhibit 254, 20 miles west of Denver.
