Hiking regularly with your kids is totally possible — all you need is a little preparation. Pull up a chair at Denver Audubon Nature Center, grab a complimentary cup of coffee and donut, and let local hiking guru Jamie Siebrase help prepare you for a year of successful family hikes.

Jamie will share personal anecdotes – the good and the bad! – and provide insights into snacks, gear, packing, and more. While walking around the mellow trails outside Denver Audubon Nature Center, Jamie will answer questions and demonstrate activities that can help alleviate the inevitable whining and complaining that all kids sometimes do. You’ll walk away from this fun, interactive session with insider tips on where to go and what to do before/after your adventures.

There’s more! Attendees will be entered into a drawing for free copies of Jamie’s guidebook, Hiking with Kids Colorado: 52 Great Hikes for Families, and everyone who participates gets a list of Jamie’s favorite super-secret hiking spots.

Jamie is a Denver area journalist and author of two guidebooks, Hiking with Kids Colorado: 52 Great Hikes for Families and Mythbusting the Great Outdoors: What’s True and What’s Not?. Her first children’s book, Tonight!: A Bedtime Story, comes out later this year. When she’s not on an adventure with her family of five, Jamie’s usually writing about the outdoors and parenting for a variety of publications, including Colorado Parent magazine.
