Crown Hill Park is an oasis in the metropolis of the Denver surrounding area. Located in Wheat Ridge, this park is a host to 5+ different habitats, making it an ideal location for seeing many different species without having to travel too far from Denver. This trip will be the first in the Crown Hill series of birding trips. The goal of this series is to experience Crown Hill Park at various times throughout the late winter and spring season. Many migrants call this park home, if even for just a night, during the migration season. Hopefully, we will be able to see many different species on this trip and show everyone a great place to visit close to Denver. If you are only able to join one of these trip, no worries; this will be a great single trip for any and everyone as well.
The trip will begin at 8:00 a.m. We'll meet off of W. 26th Avenue. To get to the meeting place, go to Wadsworth Blvd. (from either 6th Ave. or I-70). From Wadsworth, take the turn onto 26th Ave. As you head west, the meeting location will be the first parking lot on your right. This will be an easy 2.5-mile trail on a paved path and as mentioned before should be around a 3-hour trip. The path is accessible for any and everyone who would like to join. I cannot wait to see you all out there!
For more information, please call Jackson Strobel, trip leader, at (720) 644-7362.
