Is your New's Year's resolution to get out and bird more? Join Audubon Master Birder, Dina Baker, for a two-hour birding trip along the South Platte River in Denver. We will be exploring along mostly paved, flat paths along the river in search of a wide variety of waterfowl and songbirds. Some species we hope to spot include Common and Barrow's Goldeneye, Northern Shovelers, Bufflehead, teal species, mergansers, Pintails, Gadwall, Ruddy Ducks, and more! Our focus will be identifying, What the Duck is That?!

Bundle up for the New Year and let's go look for some of Denver's finest winter waterfowl!

Meeting Location: Platte River Trailhead in Denver. Details on exact location will be email prior to the trip.

Please Note: If you have registered and no longer can attend the walk, please contact the Denver Audubon Office at 303-973-9530 as soon as possible or email us at info@denveraudubon.org. There is a waiting list for those wanting to join the walk. 

  • Advance registration, including signing of the liability waiver, is required. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed.

  • You are responsible for bringing your own binoculars, water, snacks and sunscreen for optimum experience.

  • Cameras are permitted.

  • This trip is accessible for those with mobility issues.

COVID Guidelines: We will follow the current guidelines for the county where the program takes place.
