Event Details
What the duck is that?! We will spend the morning observing and identifying ducks and waterfowl on Kountze Lake at Belmar Park. We'll spend the first part of the trip on the covered boardwalk getting good, up-close views of waterfowl while learning identifying marks, behaviors, and sizes of various ducks and waterfowl. We'll spend the remaining time slowly exploring the trails around the park in search of songbirds, raptors, corvids, and other birds. The trail around the lake is about 1 mile long on mostly flat, unpaved surfaces. All ages and abilities are welcome. Please bring your field guide of choice and binoculars, if you have them.
Meeting Location: Belmar Park – Parking Lot 777 S Yarrow St, Lakewood, CO 80226.
