Event Details
Embark on a 90-minute birding adventure at the Kingery Nature Center with two of our expert Master Birders from Denver Audubon. The field trip will cover approximately two miles along paved and gravel trails bordering ponds and a peak at the South Platte River. Help us count and identify the bird species coming into the bird feeders around the Kingery Nature Center buildings and learn how to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count at your home or in your neighborhood. Then join us in the Kingery Nature Center for a round of the bird strategy game, Wingspan! Feel free to bring a copy of the game if you own one but we will also have a couple available for use. Bring your own lunch or snacks if you want to stay and play with us!
This trip is perfect for kiddos keen on the outdoors, eager to delve into the wonders of nature and birds.
Please note: The Young Birders Club meets once a month to explore the world of birding. The trips are tailored for ages 7-17, and kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
