Get ready for a fun evening of team bird trivia with Denver Audubon and the Ornithology Class at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. This is not your typical bird trivia. We will stretch your knowledge on topics such as bird evolution, diversity, physiology, behavior, and ecology. After each question, you will learn more about the answers.
Don’t have a team? No worries, we are a friendly group and will help you find a flock to join.
Behind the Scenes Taphouse has donated their entire space for this exciting fundraising event. All funds support Audubon Denver. Food and beverages (including a selection of non-alcoholic options) are available for purchase, so bring your appetite and support this local small business. Arrive early so you can form your teams and order food.
Limited to 50 people, so register early!

The 2 hour program (over Zoom) includes a 20 minute presentation by each project leader followed by approximately a 10 minute question and answer session.
The 2022 Lois Webster Fund projects are:
Mountain Plover Brood Selection and Survival by Casey Weissburg, a CSU graduate student. Casey will discuss her study of two populations of Mountain Plover and how their survival was influenced by habitat selection. This is the second year that the Lois Webster Fund has supported Casey’s research.
Lights Out Denver by Vicki Vargas and Tim Luethke of Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR). In 2014 Denver was declared an Urban Bird Treaty City by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. As a result, DPR is launching a campaign to reduce nighttime lighting and promote bird safe buildings. Through data collecting, education, and lobbying this project will make an impact on bird survival during critical migratory times.
Northern Red Belly Dace Recovery and Restoration by Ocean First Institute, an environmental and educational nonprofit organization. The Northern Red Belly Dace is a Colorado native minnow that is endangered due to disruptions in our streams and introduction of non-native fish. By monitoring water quality, the Northern Red Belly Dace has been reintroduced successfully in some small streams.
