Help Denver compete in the International City Nature Challenge (CNC)! This ongoing project documents urban biodiversity and engages residents in the nature found all around them. The 2023 Denver Metro Nature Challenge will take place from April 26 – April 29 utilizing the popular iNaturalist.org app to collect observations made of local wildlife or plants—anyone can participate using the app and their smart phone. We will be hosting a free event with Denver Audubon Master Naturalists to help introduce the app and we need community volunteers to help us create a snapshot of our wildlife around the Kingery Nature Center.

Spring is in the air, and with it, the return of many migratory birds that have been away all winter! Led by DA Master Birders, this trip is tailored for young birdwatchers and their grown-ups. Plan to explore approximately 3 miles along Clear Creek, on mostly flat, paved, gravel, and boardwalk surfaces. We hope to find many newly arriving insect-eaters, such as warblers, swallows, and wrens, and will also be on the lookout for more uncommon species of sparrows and shorebirds that may just be passing through on their way to more northerly breeding grounds!
Meeting Location: Wheat Ridge Greenbelt Youngfield Entrance, located at 3862 Youngfield Service Rd., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
Trip Leaders: Sarah Leavesley and Jordan Gerue. Please call Sarah at (317) 809-9839 for questions about this field trip.
Please Note: If you have registered and no longer can attend the program, please contact the Denver Audubon Office at (303)-973-9530 as soon as possible.
-
Advance registration, including signing of the liability waiver, is required. Walk-up or impromptu participants will not be allowed.
-
